Art in Houston
- Established in 1991 by Nancy and Oliver
Goldesberry to provide a showcase for fine craft in Houston, Goldesberry Gallery has expanded
and grown to become one of the city's major galleries and remains the city's only commercial
source for nationally recognized fine art craft. The gallery currently represents both regional
and national artists working in ceramics, glass, wood, fiber and metal including jewelry, as well
as painting, collage and mixed media.
Houston Center for Contemporary Craft
- Houston Center for Contemporary Craft is a nonprofit
organization founded to advance education about the process, product and history of craft. The
Center’s major emphasis is on objects of art made primarily of fiber, metal, glass, clay and wood.
The Center provides a much-needed venue for exhibition, retail and studio spaces to support the
work of local and national artists and to serve as a resource for artists, educators and the
community at large. After more than two years of careful planning by a nine member Board of
Directors and Advisory Council of 24 local and national members, Houston Center for Contemporary
Craft opened its doors in the fall of 2001with an inaugural exhibition, Defining Craft I:
Collecting for the New Millennium, from the collection of the American Craft Museum in New York.
As a resource for both artists and educators, Houston Center for Contemporary Craft offers
the community at-large a unique opportunity to experience the excitement of the handmade through
workshops, gallery talks, studio demonstrations and educational outreach programs.

- The mission of Arthouse is to promote the growth and
appreciation of contemporary art and artists in Texas. Through its exhibitions and programs

- Specializing in contemporary American
painting, sculpture, and photography, is located at 1701 Guadalupe (on the corner of 17th
Street) in Austin, Texas. Located in the 1930 Chapline Building, d berman gallery is a
contemporary urban exhibition space that preserves the Commercial Deco feel of the historic
building. Warm gray walls, polished concrete floors, twelve-foot wood ceiling, and natural
daylight supplemented by halogen lighting provide the optimal setting for the display of art
in the 1000-square-foot exhibition space.
f8 Fine Art Gallery
- Located in the West End Gallery District, F8 compliments the diverse, lively art scene in Austin.
As the name signifies, F8 focuses on fine art, black and white photography by showcasing
original darkroom created photographs by husband and wife artists Amy and Richard D.Griffin.
- Flatbed Inc. comprises two divisions:
Flatbed Press is a publishing workshop which collaborates with artists to produce limited editions of original etchings, lithographs, woodcuts, and monoprints. Flatbed Gallery is a private art gallery which specializes in original prints, but also exhibits and markets exceptional paintings, drawings, and photographs.

Workshop & Gallery
- Slugfest Printmaking Workshop is a
collaborative workshop producing museum quality limited editions of original prints by both
established and emerging artists. The workshop is also open to artists who wish to create
or edition prints independently or with the assistance of Slugfest's printers. Introductory
workshops are offered in lithography, relief printing, monotype, collograph, book arts and
- Since starting in 1999 in our
downtown loft, we have steadily grown and so have our artists. Now we are building a new
space for the art designed by Bercy Chen Architects. The art space will be separate from
the living quarters. It should be finished at the end of year.
- As a groundbreaking and adventurous
contemporary art gallery, Volitant Gallery opened its doors in Austin on April 15th, 2006
at 320 Congress Avenue (southwest corner of 4th & Congress). Housed in the historic 5,000
square-foot space of the Koppel Building, its ambitious mission to share both regional and
international contemporary art with Austin continues with each exhibit. In addition to the
gallery's work with internationally-known artists, such as Marcos Lopez, Nicola Costantino
and Stanikas, Volitant seeks to nurture and celebrate Austin's local art scene, helping
regional artists expand their recognition and contributing to the richness of the vital
national art scene.
Wally Workman Gallery

Women & Their Work
- Women & Their Work is a statewide non-profit contemporary
art gallery and gift shop that features Texas women artists. Now celebrating our 27th Anniversary, Women &
Their Work presents over 50 events a year and serves over 2500 AISD school children with educational workshops
